Lunatic Pizza

Free Pizza and a Side Order of Idiocy

CINCINNATI (AP) — “Bailout” was the magic word as Domino’s had to give away thousands of free pizzas because someone stumbled on an online promotion the company scrapped.
Domino’s Pizza Inc. spokesman Tim McIntyre said Wednesday that the company prepared an Internet coupon for an ad campaign that was considered in December but not approved.

He says someone apparently typed “bailout” into a Domino’s promo code window and found it was good for a free medium pizza.

Word about the code spread quickly Monday night on the Web and 11,000 free pizzas were delivered before it was deactivated Tuesday morning.

Lots of free pizzas. yay. good on y’all who got one. This wouldn’t normally be my choice of blog topics but for one thing: The Comment Section. I’ve said it before; more often than not, it’s more ‘interesting’ than the story.

The guy who tells us that he’s an expert cuz he’s ate a lot of pizza in his day.  The person who makes political comments. The guy that informs us he used to be a great pizza chef. I don’t know why it felt right to them to establish their expertise. Perhaps so that we will lend more weight to their comments? I dunno. It felt overwhelmingly as though most that chimed in hates Dominoes. I dislike Dominoes, too. But I’d have taken the free damn pizza. As would most of those people, I expect.

I am hungry for lunch now.
