Gamewhores

Gamers ❤ Hookers, Too

GameCrush is being touted as the first social site for adult gamers with the women online able to set their gaming mood to either “flirty” or “dirty”, IGN reports.

Evidently, you can get your gaming and your e-sex on the same site. Not really an earth shattering concept, is it? You can’t tell me there is not already plenty of cybering going on in the WoW servers. This is just paying for the cyber sex.

I really do not see much difference in this than phone sex. It’s the same general concept. The guys want company and to talk dirty or *whatever* and the girls make themselves available to fulfill those desires. For a fee.

For $US8.25 ($8.99) Players get 500 credits, which is enough for one game (400 credits) and a 100 credit tip at the end.

GameCrush says it modelled its pricing structure after the cost of buying a girl a drink at a bar.

The company explained that in a bar you’re basically buying the opportunity to chat a girl up, and GameCrush is hoping players will look at their service the same way.

Except that at a bar, when a guy buys a girl a drink, he hasn’t really committed her to any specific block of time or…anything really.  Nor is the average girl at the average bar trying to earn money from random guys buying her drinks. Whereas, it seems to me that once the deal is made on this site, yeah, she’s getting paid and he *is* going to get his “game.”

Now…i’ve been to bars in Amsterdam where it DID sort of work like this website would have us believe.  The girl would ask someone to buy her a drink and in that instance?  When he did, it was understood that she would ‘keep him company.”  I wouldn’t call those girls “prostitutes.”  I would think of them more as..shills. They work for (or at least are associated with) the bar. Just like in a poker game, where the house will put their own live players on a game in order to keep the action going. Those girls basically keep the patrons present and drinking.

However, that is not the way I’m understanding this concept.  Firstly, these guys (the customers) are going to be gaming whether these girls are selling their company or not. And secondly, when a girl is advertising herself as ‘flirty or dirty,” it seems to me like there is a specific ‘product’ being marketed.

These girls are more like phone sex workers than girls who simply go to bars or even the bar shills. In my opinion, phone sex girls are whoring.  The only difference is that they are not offering the physical act of sex. But they are *selling* everything else that goes along with why someone would visit a hooker.

Those guys are lonely and are paying for companionship probably more so than they are paying to screw. And that’s even more apparent when they call up for phone sex.  They know for a fact that they are not going to actually have sex. So they are blatantly paying for that “everything else.”

The thing is, I don’t have any real problem with any of it. Prostitution, phone sex, or even this.  It should all be legal.  And furthermore,  I think this is a brilliant bit of entrepreneurialism. I saw this story and thought for a split second, “Damn. Why didn’t I think of this? I could have been the ‘Game Geek Madam’!”

I just  think the way they are marketing it is retarded. It is what it is.  These guys are going to be buying the companionship of a girl more so than they are going to be buying someone to play with.  That makes the girl selling her companionship a whore. And it makes the guy buying it a john.
